Fort Myers Christian Church

Program: Maximize the use of site feasibility and future expansion.
Using metal construction offered a reduced square footage cost which in turn allowed for an upgraded interior package.

Design/Concept: The angular design layout allowed the approach to the interior to be a break from the traditional rectangular approach of the various churches while maximizing the views of the proscenium and chancel along with views of the cross.

An opening in the roof above the chancel and choir provided a cinematic view of the cross against the sky. This view would be present to the majority of the church members as they lifted their eyes from the chancel/baptistery/choir area.

This project was completed while working for Sheeley Architects in Ft. Myers Florida.
